I hope you are having a wonderful start to the New Year so far! Just before Christmas, the lovely team at Babushka PR very generously sent over some of NYK1 Secrets award winning, cruelty free and vegan friendly products to try which I’ve been testing out since.
I was especially intrigued to try the LashForce Eyelash and Brow Serum that claims to ‘maximises lash and brow growth over time that is amplified with mascara.’ You apply the product twice daily onto your lashline, once in the morning and once at night (which can also be applied to the lower lashes and brows). Hearing some fellow bloggers say they love this product and the hefty price tag at £34.95 I had high hopes. Although I think the before and after images on their website are dramatically heightened, I’m so impressed! I have naturally long eyelashes which you can perhaps see from the before image, (so bare this in mind that my results may not show huge differences) I do think there is still a visible difference in the length. I love the handy, thin eyeliner like applicator which makes the product so easy to apply too. I didn’t experience any irritation and it’s also safe for contact lens users. You do have to commit to using this product however and it does take some time to see results. I also wonder if you have to use this continually after results but after the few weeks of testing it, it’s become part of my routine. If you have shorter eyelashes and are wanting a more natural solution I would give this a go!
before (L) & after (R):
(both are using the same mascara and are completely unedited hence the overgrown eyebrows and everything else the camera kindly picked up haha)
The next product they sent is the NYK1 Tan Force Foam and included in the set, the Megamitt tanning mitt and tiny face Minimitt which is so cute! As you may know I love a tanning mousse so I was excited to try this one. The price of the set is £32.95 but the mousse is also available singularly without the mitts at £24.95. The mitts are lined with plastic inside which means you don’t get stained hands or have any tan disasters with it seeping through the outer layer. They are super soft too.
The tan is ‘none dehydrating’ and claims to not have the ‘side effects from the other fake tan products on the market’ which was intriguing and is ultimately what we all want from a self tanner! So especially as someone with dry skin which I always find an issue when it comes to tanning, I also had high hopes for this product. The tan is gentle, paraben free, easy to use and is also clear so can’t transfer. The water based formula means its dry and good to go in seconds which is a big plus. I can’t smell any aroma either. Although it is clear, you can still tell where you have applied the tan as it is slightly sticky at first but this dries down. I love how this tan really is natural looking which is fab against my pale skin. It is very buildable though.
This tan is expensive, but only a tiny amount is required each application so should last a long time if using every 10-14 days. As I’m very pale I don’t tend to self tan all year round (mainly only in Summer) as it’s a constant debate with myself whether I go cold turkey and embrace the pale or tan but with this product I think it’s going to make it much easier for me to keep a natural looking topped up tan.
Have you tried NYK1 Secrets?
