I hope you are all well! Today I thought I would sit down and do a more relaxed blog post and answer your questions that I have never answered before in the hope of getting to know me and the person behind the blog a bit more! Although I love sharing my opinions on beauty products in my usual posts, it’s sometimes nice to do a more chatty post which is something I definitely want to do more of on my blog to really get my personality across and me as a person. Thank you so much to everyone who sent in their questions as there were some good’uns and I thoroughly enjoyed answering as many of them as best I could! You might want to grab yourself a cuppa and get comfy as this could be quite the ramble! I hope you enjoy my lovelies…
- What’s your favourite thing about blogging?-@lifeaskatiex
This is a difficult one as it’s hard to choose one thing but I would have to go with the photography side of blogging and the opportunities it has brought like meeting so many lovely people.
- If you could change one thing about blogging, what would it be? What’s something about you that people who read your blog wouldn’t know?-@thoughtfultash
When I read this question, it was definitely one that got me thinking and although I don’t like to talk about anything negative, if I could change one thing about blogging it would probably be that everyone had an equal opportunity. The blogging world is a very competitive world and is hard to get recognised. As being a blogger for a few years now myself, I appreciate it takes time to gain followers and to get yourself out there but I feel as though brands will only work with people who have the high numbers of followers etc. I appreciate that they can’t work with everyone as there are a LOT of beauty bloggers out there and it would be more profitable for them to choose people with higher followers but it would be nice to see smaller bloggers being recognised too. (I told you this was going to be a ramble!)
To answer the second question, I’m not sure if I’ve told this or not but I am a very organised person and I have to have everything tidy because a tidy place means a tidy mind am I right? I’m also a big fan of lists and writing everything down so I can tick things off as I go instead of storing it all in my head.
- What’s your favourite thing to do on the weekend?-@liveabeautylife
On a weekend, I very much like to chill, get any work done, get my camera out and do a bit of blogging! If it’s a nice day however which has been quite often recently here in Britain, I do like to make the most of it!
- What’s been your biggest blogging regret so far?-@clayaabeauty
Although I don’t have many blogging regrets as I believe that everything happens for a reason and that was what I wanted to do at that time, I’d say my biggest blogging regret was not making my blog more professional sooner. When I first started my blog which was about two years ago, I was a very different person to who I am now and I was totally clueless! A few months ago I took the leap and went self hosted (see my post all about it here) and I wish I had done it sooner as it was one of the best decisions I ever made and it has (hopefully) made my blog look a lot more like I know what I’m doing compared to the blog I had two years ago!
- What’s your number one life goal?-@whatflodid
At the moment and where I am now, I’d say my number one life goal is to hit 1,000 followers on my blog. Although I am almost at 800 now which is crazy to think, that to me would be such a great achievement in my life to see that people like and appreciate what I love creating.
- Do you know what you want to do career wise later on in life?-@louisekatlinx
For a long time I never knew what I wanted to do but recently I have found what my passion is and what I would like to do career wise which is to have a job involved somewhere in the media for example working for a magazine company, a beauty editor or a photographer as well as still blogging!
- What would you do if you were told you could never blog in the future?-@tabithebear
Blogging had become a big part of my life and without it I would be flipping devastated! I definitely want to carry on blogging in the future so it would be a right mare!
- What are some of your tips that helped you keep blogging for so long? Who’s one blogger you’d love to go to for coffee with?-@sophiemaie
Although I’m no expert, I’d say that if your ever feeling unmotivated to blog, it’s always good to take a break for a week and you will come back to it feeling more motivated. I don’t find it hard to keep blogging myself as it’s something that I always look forward to doing, but if I’m having a off day and I’m not happy with the photos I took, it doesn’t hurt to take a break and come back to it another time.
The answer to the second part of the question would actually be Sophie herself as she seems like such a lovely down to earth person that I would love to have a chat with while having a coffee! I’d also love to know her blogging tips as her blog is absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much for reading as always if you made it to the end and I hope you enjoyed getting to know a bit more about me! Thanks again to those of you who sent in your questions and I apologise if I didn’t get round to answering yours but let me know if you want me to do a part two in the future!
Much love, Amelia xx
