I hope you are all well! As you may or may not know, I love a good matte lipstick which seems to be the trend in the beauty world lately! When Seventeen brought out 12 new matte lipsticks, I died and went to heaven! When the lovely people from Boots at Seventeen sent me two of the lipsticks to try, I couldn’t wait to share them with you to let you know what I think of them! I hope you enjoy lovelies…
To start off, let’s talk about the price of the lippies! Seventeen is a very affordable brand that do such great quality products that everyone can enjoy without breaking the bank! The lipsticks are priced at £4.49 that are exclusive to Boots which I will link below! I love to share with you products that are affordable so you can get your hands on them too! Even though I got kindly sent these, Seventeen are one of my fav brands and I wouldn’t tell you how good they were if I didn’t think that!
The packaging of the lipsticks are simple but sleek with detailing below the lid which I love! They are also a handy size to fit into your makeup bag! The lipsticks claim to be ‘long-lasting with high impact shades that glide on smoothly for pout perfecting colour!’ It also says that ‘The creamy texture promises no flaking or drying.’
Having worn these lipsticks for a few days now, comparing what I think to what they claim, I couldn’t agree more! Usually after wearing a matte lipstick, at the end of the day my lips feel dry and I find myself smothering lip balm over them! These however are a different story. Although they still give a matte finish, they have a creamy texture that don’t make my lips feel dry which is a life saver!
I can’t say I have worn them for 13 hours which is how long the are meant to last but they do seem to last a good amount of time on my lips, even after I have eaten. I find that they glide on my lips nice and easily and the shades that I own are very highly pigmented which is fab also!
I usually wear pink and nude shades so I’m not going to lie, when I received slightly brighter colours to what I would usually wear I wasn’t so sure! Having tried these slightly brighter colours and stepping out of my comfort zone, the red toned shade ‘Lave You A Lot’ has actually been my go to lip shade this week! I can assure you that they aren’t as bright as they seem! I especially like wearing the red shade on top of a nude lipstick which makes it a gorgeous coral colour shown below! I find that the shades are buildable so you can wear them as little or as bright as you like!
I have the shades ‘Lave You A Lot’ and ‘Violet Summer’ which are both very cute names!! I know I am going to be wearing ‘Lave You A Lot’ throughout Autumn and Winter after Summer as it’s such a lovely shade for every season! I’d say that ‘Violet Summer’ was more of a Spring/Summer time shade as it states in the name but you could still rock this all year round! I also think this would look amazing at a festival or party as it has a slight metallic look! I’m still not sure if I’m cool enough for that one but I’ll let you know after a few more uses! ‘Lave You A Lot’ is a winner though for me!!
Having tried and loved these lipsticks I would definitely go out and buy some more of their shades! I especially like the look of ‘The Coral Of The Story’ and ‘Looking Buff’ shown below! (Comment what your favourite shade is in the comments!)
Overall I am a big fan of these lipsticks! Who doesn’t love a great affordable matte lipstick!? Unlike other matte lipsticks I own, Seventeen’s don’t dry my lips out which is a huge plus! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a new matte lipstick! Thankyou so much for reading as always and I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you’ve tried these before and what you thought of them?? See you in my next post,
