As you may know, me and my family spent this weekend in Lincoln to see family and visit the Christmas markets! I thought I’d share a bit on what we got up to and the photos I got whilst we were there!
We arrived at about lunch time on Friday so after we’d checked in, we got a bite to eat at a new cafe and sandwich bar around the corner called ‘Cafe Pino’ which was handy. We then decided to have a walk into the town centre to get our bearings and have a look around as we’ve never actually been into Lincoln itself before when visiting. From the Travelodge carpark there was a cut straight onto the high street which was ideal! It was such a lovely atmosphere with all the shops you could need! After doing a bit of shopping which of course included going into their Primark, we met up with family for a meal in the evening.
On Saturday, we decided to go out for breakfast at Costa and walked up to the markets, ‘up’ being the operative word. The hill was so steep I could have done with my inhaler haha but it was definitely worth it! The market itself was through the cathedral but before that there was some little independent shops at either side which were lovely. The markets were spread out in different areas which meant although there were a lot of people, it didn’t feel crowed which I was glad about. Especially as it’s only on for one weekend. There was a one way system too so there were no crushes and there were lots of police and stewards there to help guide people. Some stalls were too busy to get to but you could have a look in most of them and try some of the foods. Not to mention the whiskeys which my mum carried around the cathedral later in the see-through bag haha! The stalls were sectioned into categories too so all the food stalls were in one place with plenty of seating. I got a hot chocolate from ‘Stokes’ which was delish. On the way out, we got told about the cafe in the cathedral which we went to for lunch which was cosy.
This morning I woke up feeling ill so after breakfast we had one last look around a few shops and headed home but overall it was a lovely trip and I’d love to go back!
I hope you are having a wonderful December so far!
