I hope September is treating you well so far! Although I know it’s not officially autumn yet, this is definitely my favourite time of the year and the jumpers are well and truly out. Although that might be about to change with this heat wave! It’s that time again to share a few bits since last month and have a little catch up…
Being A Guest On A Podcast
In August, the lovely Lucy (Forever September) asked me to be a guest on her amazing podcast ‘By Creatives, For Creatives.’ I’d loved listening to episodes with other bloggers and creatives so I was so honoured to go on. I’ve never properly spoken on my socials but she made me feel so welcome and is such a good host. The podcast is a place where Lucy chats to different creatives such as bloggers, photographers and where you can get to know them and the industry! If you haven’t had a listen yet, you need to!
Visiting Robin Hood’s Bay
For my dad’s birthday, we went to Robin Hood’s Bay for some lunch and a look around which you may know. It was such a lovely seaside town which I’d love to re visit sometime, although maybe not that uphill walk! I can’t believe I’d never been before! My favourite part has got to be the shop that soled all sorts of crystals and stones which is right up my street. I picked up a little worry stone and rose quartz.
Starting Year 13
It’s now my third week back at college of starting second year and I am definitely feeling it after the Summer off back to normality again! My new timetable for this year means I have more lesson time so I’m there more than I was last year but I know this year will fly by with the early finish. There is definitely more pressure and work this year ahead with coursework starting but I’m going to try and not be too hard on myself.
I’m in the process of applying for extra time for my exams which will hopefully make me feel more relaxed knowing I can afford to stop and give my hands a rest and have a walk about as I struggled a bit in my mocks. I also got moved English classes on my new timetable due to some lessons clashing which I was a bit nervous about at first but I think I’ve settled in now and it’s an opportunity to make new friends. I suppose everything happens for a reason!
Appointment At The Genetics Centre
A few weeks a go I finally got an appointment through to go to the genetics centre in Newcastle which I went to yesterday to have the tests done for marfan syndrome. We stopped off at IKEA for lunch before hand and then made our way there. They took my height etc first and then I had an echocardio gram (a type of ultrasound scan) which was actually really interesting to see my heart on the screen, but strange at the same time haha.
I then I saw the consultant who has got to be the nicest consultant I’ve seen. After talking to him he told me that my heart scan was all good and that he didn’t think I needed to go for any further genetic tests which was a relief! I wasn’t expecting to get the results straight away so to hear that day I have nothing to worry about is amazing.
