I said in one of my latest posts that I had cut down on the amount I was spending on makeup and that I’m sticking to what I know works but here I am after having picked up two products from Revlon’s new PhotoReady Candid Collection. It was buy one get one half price so I’m letting myself off on this one. As you may know, the foundation I’ve been currently using is actually a Revlon one (Colorstay) which I love but I couldn’t resist trying these out after hearing amazing things. I’m also not convinced the shade I have in the Colorstay foundation actually matches me which I’ve been going around wearing so there’s that, another reason why I’m justifying this purchase to myself.
Although it is classed as a foundation, the consistency is definitely more of a BB cream come moisturiser and feels so lightweight which I love. I would agree that it gives a natural, medium coverage as some redness was still visible without the concealer but I actually quite like the look of your skin peeping through to give a skin like look. I applied this with a buffing brush how I usually apply foundation but you could totally use your fingers as it goes on like a moisturiser which would give an even more natural effect. Matching my foundation is something I always get wrong but by using their shade guide online and testing every foundation in store in the ‘light’ section, this shade ‘sand beige’ is a good match for me which was a relief.
I wasn’t sure how this would wear on my combination skin with it priding itself on keeping the skin moisturised but it actually wears really well whilst keeping dry areas hydrated. I’ve also done the flashback test (I’ve got you covered) which was safe so all in all if you couldn’t already tell, I would definitely recommend.
The concealer in this range is similar to the foundation infused with antioxidants, anti-pollution and anti-blue light ingredients. I got the concealer in the shade ‘sand’ which is just a touch lighter than ‘sand beige’ so these both make a good match. It covers blemishes well and does the job without creasing. I’m tempted to try the loose powder from this range too but I’ll restrain myself for now.
Have you tried anything from this collection? I’d love to know your thoughts!
