I was recently in need of a new brow pomade so after having a browse in Boots for any new products on the market, I noticed Maybelline has added some new products to their ‘tattoo brow’ range, including a pomade. As you may know, I have been using the Revolution Pro pomade (£6) for some time however it does tend to dry up fairly quickly. After some deliberating, I decided to get the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Pomade and part with £9.99. As a comparison this is also the same price as the L’Oreal Brow Artist pomade. Not everyone is born with well-shaped, and naturally defined brows including myself so anything that does the job and makes that step in my routine easier is a winner for me. Judging by the before and after on the box, it looks promising.
My eyebrows have gone on quite a journey in their time but after trying powders, gels and everything else under the sun I’ve found that pomades for me work best for their flexibility of use. This one comes with a small angled brush that has a spoolie on one end as well as the pomade. It comes in eight shades, I chose ‘medium brown’ which actually turns out to be an exact match which I was very thankful for after I’d already dipped by brush in. According to Maybelline:
The pigmented formula and creamy texture combine to help create bold and beautiful brows.
I definitely can’t argue with this statement and how creamy this product is. You only need the lightest touch for this product to go a long way which is suuuper pigmented. I would definitely recommend testing it on your hand first before applying so you don’t deposit too much. I found it nice and smooth to apply and the applicator it comes with works well too which seems a lot less flimsy that the one in the Revolution Pro kit which I would expect for the price. It lasted all day too although I can’t say if its waterproof. On the packaging it doesn’t say how many grams/fluid ounce it contains nor online but as you only need a small amount I can tell this is going to hopefully last me a very long time. I can imagine this is a very good, less pricey dupe for the ABH dip brow pomade!
So my final thoughts? Overall I would definitely recommend this product. Here’s hoping it lasts!
