Lately, I have been seeing a LOTTA hype around Makeup Revolution’s new makeup brand, Revolution Pro. I’m probably, like always, a tad late on the band wagon butt after reading and watching other reviews in the beauty community on their new products, I thought I would place a cheeky order and see for myself what it was all about!
Makeup Revolution are really killing it lately for a drugstore brand and they just seem to keep on impressing me more and more! I feel as though they are constantly releasing a new product better than the last, so when I saw they had introduced a new addition, the Revolution Pro range I was SO excited and intrigued. Some of you might already know that Makeup Revolution’s brow pomade and concealer (see my review here) are favourites of mine so I was interested to see if this similar brand offers similar quality products! Something I did notice was that they have included the word ‘pro’ which suggests this brand is aimed to be more professional than their others and by already looking at the packaging, this brand seems as though they are branching into more higher quality makeup, whilst still being affordable.
One of the reasons I love Makeup Revolution is that their products are nice and affordable, so everyone has the chance to own high quality makeup for prices that won’t break the bank which seems to be the case again for this brand which I love! As a student myself, the low price tag is a huge bonus! Before diving straight into the review, all Revolution Beauty’s products are 100% cruelty free and none of their products are tested on animals if any of you were wondering about that which is also a plus! The majority of their products are also vegan too.
Revolution Pro Foundation Drops – £7.00
The first product I’ve been testing out is their new Foundation Drops. Out of the 18 shades they offer, I got mine in the lightest shade, ‘F1’ because your girls still living her pale life. (Bring on the Summer tan…from the bottle.) Something I also love about this brand is that the shade ranges are what you should expect and there really is a shade for everyone which I like to see from brands. The shade numbers also correspond and are exactly the same as the concealers etc which is handy to match. As someone who doesn’t like a too heavy foundation, especially in these hott Summer days we seem to be having, I was most excited to try these new drops which claim to create a ‘silky, breathable base’ which sounded like my cup of tea.
So, what are my thoughts? I’m OBSESSED. There’s no other way of putting it. Packaging wise, I love how the foundation, hence the name is so easy to apply with the drop applicator which you can essentially drop straight onto your skin without having to pour it out from the bottle or pump onto your hand. I found the best way to blend out this foundation is with a damp beauty blender which blends it out beautifullyy. This foundation isn’t marketed as being full coverage which I agree with so if your like me and prefer a lighter coverage this will be perfect but if you’re a more full coverage kinda girl, you can also layer it up to build a natural looking medium coverage, so you can go for as little or as much as you like! The formula is super lightweight and gives a matte, but glowy finish so I know this will be a staple in my makeup bag this Summer! As someone who also has dry skin, this product worked well with my skin also. All in all for just £7, if you’re looking for that perfect summer foundation, it’s this. Trust me, it’s this.
When this highlight palette arrived, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven! Isn’t it just BEAUT? The kit includes 4 absolutely blinding shades which are SO pigmented. Makeup Revolution never disappoint when it comes to highlighters and this certainly doesn’t either! There is also another palette like this which includes more golden shades for medium to darker skin tones. LOVEE.
If you know me, you’ll know that I’m a sucker for a liquid lippy but as much as I love the matte finish, ones that really dry my lips out are not welcome. I’m always looking for a formula that’s not too drying but that has good staying power, so when I saw these for £4 I had to add one to my basket as these are slightly different to a general liquid lipstick and are more of a ‘pigment.’ When applying the lipstick, I noticed it was more of a thick mousse formula, but it actually applied really easily and smoothly. Most importantly, these last SO well, I barely need to touch this up throughout the day. There are many shades to choose from so I’ll definitely be picking up more of these! For £4 you can’t go wrong!
Overall, I’ve been very impressed with Revolution Pro makeup so far and I’m looking forward to their future releases! These products have already made it into my daily makeup routine and I can’t wait to pick up some more bits! Definitely recommend!
Have you tried Revolution Pro? I’d love to know your thoughts!
