A few months ago when cheeky little Primark’s latest ‘Nudes’ makeup collection launched, I genuinely had to do a double take to see if they were collaborating with Kim or something miraculous, but nope they have literally brought out exact (ish) dupes of KKW Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and a few other brands too and I’m here for it. I mean anything to help a girl afford the closest thing she can get to Kim’s contour is a blessing. Paying $48 on KKW Beauty for a contour kit plus shipping and customs for basically the label is personally crazy to me, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Primark’s MUCH cheaper version of the collection, give it a try for myself and share with you my honest opinion, bible.
I didn’t want to get my hopes up too much and go full force so I just picked up Primark’s ‘Nudes Matte and Gloss Collection’ which includes two matte liquid lip creams and two high shine glosses for £6 which is right up my street. Primark also sell these Kylie -esque lip products as lip kits which come with either a metallic lip gloss, high shine lip gloss, or matte lipstick and a corresponding lip liner which are just £3. Yep you heard it guys and gals. BARGAIN.
To start off, I love Primark’s take on the KKW Beauty lipstick packaging and I love the fact that the bottle is actually the same exact colour as the lip shade. The lipsticks also have a scent to them which is scarily similar to the Kylie Cosmetics lip kits scent but less sickly sweet which I actually prefer. The applicator is also a regular doe foot which makes the product easy to apply.
Moving onto the shades, if your a lover of nude lips like me, hence the name, you’ll LAVV these. They don’t have names but from L-R from the swatches below in the set there is a pinky nude matte lip, a classic nude gloss, a deeper pink matte lip and and golden lip gloss which is a bit like a lip topper to pop on top of any liquid lip of your choice. The only shade I’m not a fan of is the nude gloss which definitely doesn’t compliment my skin tone and is giving me flashbacks to concealer lips so for me personally, I’d pair this one on top of another matte lip instead of wearing it singularly.
Formula wise, for £6 which is £1.50 per lipstick here we’re talking, I am IMPRESSED. The matte lipsticks feels comfortable and last a long time on my lips which is the main thing I look for in a matte lip. Compared to the Kylie lip kits I own which do leave my lips feeling like the Sahara which is not cute, I’d wear Primark’s any day. Although I’m not a huge fan of glosses as a whole, these don’t feel sticky thank the lord and are overall a decent gloss!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend you go and have a browse for these at Primark! I’m definitely tempted to pick some more of their lip products up next time I’m in and also try their other product dupes!
I hope you have had a lovely, relaxing bank holiday huns!
Have you tried Primark’s Ps… makeup line?
