Nowadays, there are tones of eyebrow products out there which makeup brands have released over the recent years and methods of shaping, tinting your eyebrows etc especially the likes of Benefit since brows took over the makeup world and really became a thing when the thin brows were deffos OUT and the arched, filled in brow was in (or what ever you prefer) still to this present day. However, although many various brow products have been released over the years from pencils, to powders and pomades (most of which I have tried) there has never been a product for my brows that I have gotten more excited for than when Maybelline released the ‘Tattoo Brow’ fairly recently which is a peel off semi-permanent tint which claims to tint and last on your brows for 3 dayssss. Now we’re talkin’.
After numerous times being close to adding it to my basket, the other day was finally the day I decided I’d just do it and see if it actually worked. I have now been using this Tattoo Brow for the past week or so, so I could really put it to the test and make a decision on my overall thoughts. I know I’m late to the trend of trying this product out but I thought I’d share my thoughts anyway encase you were or are thinking about giving it a go!
Even though there are literally three basic instructions and all you have to do is apply a layer of the gel to your brows, leave it for 20 minutes and then peel and reveal your magically newly tinted eyebrows, somehow doing the first brow was quite a stressful experience thinking I’d done it wrong and I’d ruined it, but by the time I’d done the other brow I’d got the knack and I was away. I think I was a bit wary of knowing how much product to apply but the key I found was to not be too careful and just apply it straight out of the bottle instead of scraping half of it off on the side like you would a nail polish. You want a nice even coated layer so it is easy to peel off, but not too thick if that makes sense. Patchy brows are not welcome thank you.
There are three shades in the brow tattoo (dark brown, medium blonde/light brown and medium brown.) The shade I chose was ‘medium brown’ which matches quite well and turns out to be a similar shade as my brows would be when I fill them in. My natural brows are quite full and are an ok shape despite them growing out so damn fast whenever I get them waxed. They are also a light brown colour, like my hair so I’ve always longed for them to remain a darker colour and to not have to fill them in every morning.
MY FINAL VERDICT ON THE BROW TINT:
My brows after using the product were definitely fully tinted and the skin underneath too. It lasted on my brows the full 3 days until it beings to fade, with only leaving it on for 20 mins to half an hour. Even then, it had only started to fade on the start of my brow and still kept my brows looking a lot fuller. I still only really needed to fill them in slightly on the fourth day! Definitely a winner for me!
I have seen some other people’s reviews on this saying that their eyebrows turned a ginger colour, especially blonde haired people but thankfully I don’t experience this when I use it and it just goes a lighter brown shade as it fades.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this product to anyone who’s perhaps a bit lazy like myself and prefers low maintenance when it comes to filing in your brows, or prefers a more natural brow look. This product would also be great if you are going on your holls when you are less likely to wear makeup around the pool for example but your brows can still be fleeking. Or just in general not having to fill in your brows as much for a few days and not having the daily struggle of trying to get them the same!
Have you tried this product? Is it something that interest you? Let me know!
