As a liquid lipstick lover, whenever a brand releases a new range of liquid lippys I’m straight there to get my hands on them so recently when Rimmel released their own range of ‘Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours’ I couldn’t resist picking up a few and adding them to my basket! Since the liquid lipstick trend, I have been practically converted to matte liquid lipsticks over a lipstick. 99% of the time I’ll be wearing a liquid lipstick so if I can find one that I love that doesn’t dry out my lips, I’m onto a winner! After trying these lippys out, I thought I would share with you my thoughts & opinions and if I would overall recommend them!
To start off, besides from the beaut packaging in the matte bottle, Rimmel have brought out these lipsticks in 14 gorgeous shades to choose from which range from all different kinds of nudes, pinks, reds to darker shades like purples & even blues. I was spoilt for choice! After a lotta swatches, I decided to go for the shades L-R ‘Pink Bliss’ which is a light barbie pink shade & ‘Be My Baby’which is a classic peachy nude. Both of these shades are so so pretty everyday shades that are right up my street. There were a few other shades that caught my eye along with these but I thought I would just stick to the two before I tried them. Now having tried them however I will definitely consider picking up more shades next time I pop in my local drugstore!
Moving onto the formula, as you can probably tell by my excitement I’ve been very impressed! For a drugstore liquid lipstick, these are so long lasting and dry within seconds and I mean literally seconds. I was so surprised at how nice and creamy the formula was and long lasting at the same time. Although they don’t beat my beloved Colourpop liquid lippys staying power, these are definitely not bad at all! Unlike some other liquid lipsticks I own, the formala of these is also light weight and comfortable so it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything on your lips. Even after I have eaten, although they do come off slightly, it’s not that noticeable and more importantly they don’t make my lips dry, YAY! Although the shade ‘Be My Baby’ is a bit more sheer, they are highly pigmented once you build the colour up. I’d say that’s the only downfall that it takes more than one swipe to build the colour up but I suppose you can’t have everything! All in all, for £5.99 each these are such a steal! Especially if you can’t afford to splash out on the more high end lipsticks for the likes of Bare Minerals, or are always wearing liquid lipsticks like myself I would definitely recommend giving these a try!
Thank you so much for reading as always & I hope you found this review in some way helpful!
