I hope you are all well and are having a lovely Sunday! It has only been until recently that I’ve been loving trying out new filters for my blog photos and different editing apps and although I never like to drastically change my pictures, I’ve noticed that adding a filter and perhaps adjusting the brightness really makes a big difference to the photo and turn it from being plain and dull to that bit more personalised and bright. I’m not saying I like to go too overboard and totally change the photo as sometimes if the sun is shining and there is hopefully good lighting, I don’t need to change anything. If the photo does need a bit of livening up however, a filter is a quick and easy fix! I thought I would share with you the apps and filters I have been using recently if you are also thinking of upping your blog/instagram game by giving your photos a bit of a refresh that hopefully you will love too…
This is the first filter which is also my favourite filter out of them all, that brightens up the photo and adds a slight pink tone to any white which I love. It also makes the photo more clear and enhanced.
(Find it in the Afterlight app by clicking on the rainbow circle > Guest > Idaho)
This next filter adds a soft, faded effect that also brightens up the image which is another one that I’ve been using a lot recently. If you like your photos to be pretty and bright, adding a touch of this filter can give your photos a nice effect without changing the colours.
(Find this filter in the Afterlight app by clicking on the rainbow circle > Guest > Russ)
3. C1- VSCO
This filter adds a lot of brightens and contrast to the photo so if you love your photos to be nice and bright, this filter can definitely add that. I don’t personally like my photos to be too bright and overpower the photo so I tend to add about half of this filter to the photo which tones down the brightness that little bit while still making your photos much more pretty and vibrant.
(Find this filter in the VSCO app by choosing your photo > clicking on the adjust lines icon > filter C1)
4. BRIGHT FIRE- AFTERLIGHT
This final filter adds a subtle brightness and softens the photo toning down the colour slightly and giving the photo a more faded effect. This filter is great if want to add a bit of something the photo without changing it too much.
(Find this filter in the Afterlight app by clicking on the rainbow circle > Guest > Bright Fire)
These are some filters that I have been loving recently that can either really liven up the photo or just add that extra touch that will make your photos less plain depending on your preference. I personally like to change the filter to half way or about 3/4 so my photos don’t look too edited but its all down to what you prefer as there is no right or wrong way. The two apps I use are Afterlight and VSCO which are so easy to use that I would definitely recommend downloading! Thank you so much for reading as always and I hope you found this post in some way helpful in finding the filter for you! Let me know what your favourite editing apps/ filters are??
Much Love, Amelia xx
