My Autumn Essentials 2016!

img_7910

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well! As we are now into November (isn’t the year just flying by!?) I thought I would share with you some of my Autumn Essentials which makes this season my most favourite! Autumn for me screams cosy socks, red lips and of course lots of hot chocolate! This post is also a collab with the lovely Jana from Girly Blogger who posts fab lifestyle posts that I know you will all love! She is doing ‘what to do on a lazy day‘ over on her blog! I hope you enjoy my lovelies…

A Few Items That Are Essential For Autumn:

  1. Cosy Socks
  2. Warm Jumpers
  3. Fairy Lights
  4. A Good Book To Read
  5. Autumnal Makeup

IMG_7755.jpgAs the weather is getting colder here in the UK, for me fluffy socks are a must to keep my feet nice and warm at this time of year! Especially when the nights start to draw in dark a good pair of fluffy socks always make me feel nice and cosy!

I recently did a blog post on ‘transitioning your wardrobe from Summer to Autumn‘ where I talked about how I cleared out my wardrobe from my Summer tops to my wooly jumpers! Especially at this time of year I like to be comfortable and cosy so having recently sorted out my wardrobe I went to NewLook and picked up a few warm jumpers to replace my clothes that I no longer wanted that I have been getting a lot of use out of recently! Even though getting rid of items in your wardrobe means replacing them with new items, this doesn’t have to be expensive as all the items I picked up were under £20 which is fab! NewLook cater for all ages and their items are usually very reasonably priced so I would definitely urge you to have browse if you are after some warm jumpers for Autumn!img_7910I have finally got round to re-decorating my room recently which has been very exciting! A few weeks ago I went shopping intending to only get a few bits but instead as usual I went into Primark and picked up a few more bits than I was planning on to!! (See my Primark haul HERE.) One of the items that I picked up for yes only £2.50 was these 20 copper heart wire lights! I have been on the lookout for some fairy lights for a while now as I just couldn’t find the right ones for a reasonable price to go in the background of my blog photos. As these ones were such a bargain I had to add them to my basket! I am so pleased with them! I definitely think that fairy lights give such a nice decorative touch! img_7800img_7799At this time of year I always like to have a good book to read whenever I have a spare minute or on an evening. I would definitely recommend Zoe Sugg’s books ‘Girl Online‘ and ‘Girl Online On Tour’ which are told through the eyes of Penny a teenage girl whose a blogger which is so relatable based in Brighton aka one of my favourite places! She has her new book which is a sequel to these ‘Girl Online Going Solo‘ which is released November 17th this month which is very exciting!! You can also pre-order her books at places like WHSmith. img_7802Finally the last items that are essential for me around this time of year is Autumnal makeup! As soon as the bright pink lips from Summer are over, I can’t wait to reach for the red and nude shade lipsticks and switch up my makeup for this time of year! I did a blog post all about my go to Autumn makeup look that I have been wearing a LOT recently that you can see HERE if you fancy having a read of that also.

That brings me to the end of this weeks post! Thankyou so much for reading as always and I hope you enjoyed seeing what are few of my Autumn Essentials are for this time of year! Don’t forget to check out Jana’s post that she did over on her blog and I’ll see you in my next post! What are your autumn essentials??

Much Love, Amelia xx

Great post Amelia! I definitely agree with autumnal makeup! I’ve been reaching for my brown lippie (NYX Berlin and Max Factor’s Brown and Bold lip liner) on most days when I’m out, or even a deep purple shade like Tulle by Colourpop!

    • November 5, 2016 / 5:13 pm

Aw thankyou so much lovely! Yes! I love switching up my makeup for this time of year to the pink lips of Summer to the berry tones and reds! Ooh they sound lovely! I’ve always wanted to try some of colour pop’s lippy’s! Thanks for reading also Hun xx

      • November 5, 2016 / 5:24 pm

Yes! I’m still waiting for the right moment to wear red lippie (this being said, I’ve got an uneven skin tone and need to wear foundation for it to ‘look right’ but i’m lazy! Though can’t seem to find a foundation that I could use on an everyday basis, i.e. not too heavy!). And definitely check them out! You’ll love Tulle, and I recommend Bumble too which is a lovely peachy shade, great for spring/summer! And Rooch is a BEAUTIFUL deep red but I think the one I have is a fake as the formula isn’t the same as all the others? x

        • November 5, 2016 / 5:32 pm

Yes! I don’t tend to wear foundation but BB creams are great that are less heavy on an everyday basis! I think once the countdown to Christmas starts I will be wearing red lips more but at the moment I have been loving a classic nude lip or a deeper pinky nude. I’m sure I would love them, they sound perfect for me! Thanks for letting me know about them! Aw I’m not sure, sometimes you find that theres a few shades that aren’t the same as the rest! xx

          • November 5, 2016 / 7:35 pm

I used to own a BB cream that seemed just right for my skin tone but Maybelline seemed to have discontinued it and now its hard to find a BB cream for more olive toned skin 🙁 and yep, when i’m not enjoying my brown lippie, I use Revlon’s lipstick in Mink which is like the perfect nude lip for me! And yeah it’s such a shame that the consistency isn’t the same for all from that range x

          • November 6, 2016 / 11:11 am

Aw no that’s a shame! Maybe you could find it on places like Amazon? Ooh lovely! Yes, it’s very strange! Hope you manage to find one that’s right for you xx 🙂

        • November 5, 2016 / 5:36 pm

Update-I’ve just checked the lippy’s out and there is a sale on at colour pop eek! xx
