Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Summer To Autumn!

IMG_7929.jpg

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well! A few weeks ago I saw a blog post that Life As Tilly Rose did on ‘what to keep and what not to keep.’ Reading that post really got me inspired to sort out my own wardrobe and to ask the crucial questions, Am I really going to wear this again? Do I really like this anymore? Could it go to a better home? With all of those considered I managed to fill a big Primark bag full of my old clothes to go off to charity where they would find a new home instead of being stuck at the back of my wardrobe! I think going through your clothes once in a while is such a good thing to do because I know I had items that I’d totally forgotten about or things that I honestly wasn’t going to wear again!

As Summer has come to an end and we are now well into Autumn, I thought it would be the perfect time to have a clear out from my Summer tops to my wooly jumpers!

IMG_7929.jpgFor me especially over this year my taste and style for clothes has changed. I wanted to get rid of all the things I didn’t like anymore or that just weren’t really me! Fashion trends come and go and I found myself saying ‘I literally have nothing to wear‘ when in actual fact I did but most of the clothing items I had either didn’t fit me anymore or that deep down I didn’t really like. Anyway after my sob story, if you do have a sort out but are stuck to find a place for your clothes you are getting rid of you could donate your items to charity, or if you wanted to make a bit of money in return you could sell your items on places like Depop and Ebay!

Depop is an app where you can sell and buy items online from your own home at your own prices! This is by no means an ad but I just think the whole concept is amazing!

Moving on from selling your own items, what about buying new items? If you’re like me and love a good look round Newlook, Topshop or your favourite clothes store, buying new items of clothing is great but make sure the ones you do purchase to replace your old ones are going to last that you actually love! After having a sort out, you can now replace those items with whatever you now like! Plain items are always good to have in your wardrobe from things like long or short sleeved tops so you have a few staple items that will go with anything that won’t go out of fashion!

Especially at this time of year I like to be comfortable and cosy so here are some tops that I picked up at NewLook the other day which are perfect for this season…img_7910

Even though getting rid of items in your wardrobe means replacing them with new items, this doesn’t have to be expensive as all of these items are under £20 which is fab! NewLook cater for all ages and their items are usually very reasonably priced!

  1. NewLook Burgundy Turtle Neck Jumper-£7.99
  2. NewLook Green Stripe Crew Neck Ribbed Jumper-£15.99
  3. NewLook Red Stripe Ribbed Crew Neck Top-£8.99

That brings me to the end of this weeks post! Thankyou so much for reading as always and I hope you enjoyed this different style of post to what I usually do! I hope this has shown you some easy ways in which you can transition your wardrobe from Summer to Autumn and to have a good old sort out! See you in my next post,

Much, Love Amelia xx

I definitely noticed a change in my own style and now my wardrobe is filled with blacks, greys, maroon’s khaki’s and burnt oranges. I think it’s really important to pick out items you’ll be able to mix and match and create a few outfits with. Will definitely have a look through Depop to see whether I could get rid of clothes I don’t even wear anymore x

Aw haha no it was a case of balancing my camera (canon eos 600D) on numerous items and setting a timer haha, very glamorous!! I’m looking into getting a tripod too as I think it would make things a lot easier when doing posts like this xxx 🙂
